Our origins

From an idea to a leading company

Riversa's story begins with a real need on the factory floor. In the late 1970s, Carlos Lorenzo and Francisco Javier Poyo laid the foundations of the sector in La Rioja by founding the first industrial kitchen furniture plant in Rincón de Soto. That experience as manufacturers would, years later, give life to our project.

In 1993, faced with a national market that did not offer the technical flexibility their designs demanded, they decided to take a step forward. They founded Riversa with a clear objective: to manufacture themselves the components that no one else was willing to produce, betting on unprecedented freedom in sizes, colours and finishes.

What began as an internal solution for a 2,500 m² workshop soon became a benchmark for the entire industry. In just four years, the great reception of our service model drove us to expand our facilities to 13,000 m², establishing Riversa as the strategic partner of manufacturers and distributors across the national market.

This evolution continues with the recent expansion to 15,000 m², a facility designed to meet new technical challenges. We now incorporate specialised processes such as PET board lamination and the manufacture of J-profiles on melamine, HPL and PET — key tools to drive our international expansion and continue offering the versatility that has defined Riversa since its founding.

FSC®, PEFC™, CARB Phase 2

Committed to sustainability and the environment.

Riversa®, a company committed to sustainability and the environment, has obtained the FSC® and PEFC™ Chain of Custody certifications.

The FSC® Chain of Custody certification (license code FSC-C-149685) ensures that certified material has been identified and separated from non-certified and uncontrolled material throughout the supply chain, from forest to market. Our products are available as FSC® certified only on request and subject to availability.

PEFC™ is the world's most widely deployed forest certification system, whose goal is to ensure that the world's forests are managed responsibly for present and future generations. PEFC™ certified products are only available on request and subject to availability.

In addition, on request and subject to availability, Riversa® can supply boards with CARB Phase 2 certification (EPA TSCA Title VI). In compliance with EPA regulations, formaldehyde emissions are limited to 0.05 ppm for hardwood plywood, 0.09 ppm for particleboard and 0.11 ppm for medium-density fibreboard (MDF).

1978

Founding of the first kitchen furniture factory in Rincón de Soto.

1993

Creation of Riversa as a supplier of postformed elements and worktops.

1997

Expansion to 13,000 m² of facilities.

2000-2010

State-of-the-art machinery, new processes and increased productivity.

2013

Incorporation of the second family generation.

2019

Obtaining FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody certifications.

2022
  • New corporate identity.
  • 2022–2025 collection with exclusive and high-tech materials.

2024-2025
